In June 2022, GitHub introduced a new feature called Achievements. These badges appear on your GitHub profile and showcase your accomplishments on the platform. In this guide, we’ll explore the available GitHub Achievements and explain how to earn each one.

Pair Extraordinaire 🤝

How to earn it: Co-author a pull request that gets merged. This achievement recognizes collaborative efforts where multiple authors contribute to a pull request that eventually gets merged.

Quickdraw 🎨

How to earn it: Close an issue or pull request within 5 minutes of opening it. This achievement highlights your efficiency in addressing and resolving coding challenges promptly.

Starstruck

How to earn it: Create a repository that receives 16 stars. This badge celebrates community recognition and support for your coding projects.

Galaxy Brain 🌌

How to earn it: Provide 2 accepted answers. Showcase your expertise and helpfulness by contributing valuable solutions to the GitHub community.

Pull Shark 🦈

How to earn it: Merge 2 pull requests. This achievement signifies your involvement in collaborative development and the successful integration of changes.

YOLO 🚀

How to earn it: Merge your own pull request without code review. This badge recognizes your confidence in your code, allowing for a streamlined and efficient workflow.

Public Sponsor 💖

How to earn it: Support open source work by sponsoring via GitHub Sponsors. This badge highlights your commitment to the sustainability of open source projects.

Unavailable Achievements

Arctic Code Vault Contributor 🌐

This badge is no longer available. It was awarded for contributions to repositories in the 2020 GitHub Archive Program.

Mars 2020 Contributor 🚀

This badge is also no longer attainable. It was awarded for contributions to repositories used in the Mars 2020 Helicopter Mission.

Heart On Your Sleeve 💙

This badge is not currently earnable, as it is still in testing. However, it promises exciting possibilities in the future.
